Dowel Critter Challenge

3D printing in the classroom is not easy to teach. One of the most difficult ideas to get students to grasp is how a parts can be assembled **after printing** to make something that is extra awesome.
This project introduces the idea of using a dowel rod to assemble a 3D printer project. It is a helpful way to help kids get started making things for the real world!

Useful links for teachers:
This site holds the resources for Innovative Arts class, a class that replaced ‘technology class’ in our middle school. Students learn to create as engineers, designers, and more. At the same time, we are learning about our brains/mindsets (‘Puzzle‘), engage technology (‘Shift‘) and the creative process (‘Create‘).
New resources are being added constantly, so I send out a weekly roundup email with all of the new resources. Sign up to stay in the loop.
