The conventional wisdom is to be on social media, grow an audience, and leverage that audience into all sorts of opportunities. This was exhausting to me while I was trying it. Pulling away allowed me to get so much more done on the site and in the classroom. The audience will still be out there after it is all figured out.

Create a resource for other teachers to do the same .
