‘teaching’ mindset then measuring?
I read an article tonight about how the results of mindset education have been mixed. A few pages in, they explained that the students had a story read to them or a simular one-off event.
Of course the results were not outstanding. One single experience is not going to change ingrained wiring, habits, feelings, and narratives that students have built around themselves. We need to dig deeper.
This week has had me thinking about the narratives that our students are constructing as they go through our schools. Sometimes we help students construct positive narratives, sometimes negative, but either way it is unintentional.
What if we intentionally sought to help students create a positive narrative for themselves?
