I started Sir Ken Robinson’s book Imagine If… today and I am already to the good stuff. In the chapter “The promise of education” he argues that there are four basic purposes: personal, social, cultural, and economic. Next he lays out 8 Compentencias: curiosity, creativity, communication, compassion, composure, citizenship, collaboration, criticism.

This has me thinking about the words he has included that I would not. Criticism stuck out to me the most. Critical thinking is getting harder and harder to teach, but criticism might be one of the most important things we teach in our schools.

Tonight I am wondering how I can better integrate it within Innovative Arts class.
